Kiloh Smith & Anne Daniels Visit Tumacácori Mission In Southern Arizona

Image
Kiloh Smith and Anne Daniels recently visited Tumacácori Mission, just above Nogales, in Southern Arizona. The first mission was established by Jesuit Eusebio Francisco Kino and his followers in 1691. Tumacácori is in the Santa Cruz River valley. The Missionaries encountered O’odham, Yaqui, and Apache people. We were coming back from a trip to Mexico and decided to stop. Boy we glad that we did! The mission building is in disrepair but not a ruinous state. Inside it is cool and shady. I shot the below video with my GoPro camera.

Kiloh Smith Starts Petition for Sundazed to Release Lost 1966 13th Floor Elevators Live Set

Image
Longtime 13th Floor Elevators fan, Kiloh Smith, recently started an online petition for Sundazed Records to release a "lost" 1966 set by that band. This was where the 'Elevators performed at a Battle of the Bands, in Rio Nido, California, during the fabled summer of 1966. The event was taped by an attendee and the tape has remained uncirculated for over 55 years. Some years ago, the person, who taped the 'Elevators, sold his cache of tapes to Sundazed Records. Kiloh had heard about the existence of this tape back in 2002 and then heard about the sale of it to Sundazed on his 13th Floor Elevators Faceboook group last week. He called "Jay" at Sundazed, who confirmed the existence of the tape and Sundazed's possessions of it. Kiloh then created the online petition which has gotten over 500 signatures within five days. Kiloh Smith "Broken Windows" Gone From Baltimore

No more "Broken Windows" Theory, at least in Baltimore, yaaaaaaaay! For those who don't know "Broken Windows" it is a theory, put forth as truth, by American Law Enforcement. It's similar to the discredited "Domino Theory" by American anti-Communists during the last Century. The "Domino Theory" stated that, if we let one country "fall" to Communism, more would follow like dominos toppling over in a line. "Broken Windows" states that, if the police don't aggressively arrest for small crimes; like breaking windows, the rule of law would tumble and society would fall apart. Another interpretation of "Broken Windows" is that the police need to aggressively enforce the small crimes in the "dark" neighborhoods, or then crime would "spill over" into the white neighborhoods. "Broken Windows" is a big reason that we are where we are today; an over-policed society where crime is preva
